【诗人简介】非马，原名马为义，生于台湾，在广东乡下度过童年，现居美国芝加哥。出版了23本中英文诗集，7本译诗集及3本散文集。另外他还编选了几本中国大陆及台湾现代诗选。他的诗被译成十多种语言，并被收入一百多种选集，包括英国及德国等地的教科书。曾任伊利诺州诗人协会会长。

才没几天的功夫
他便已习惯於
高大的俄罗斯帝国梦—
粗壮的石柱
高耸的穹顶
富丽堂皇的教堂
更富丽堂皇的皇宫
最大的炮最洪的钟最高的塑像
还有他下榻的五星级酒店里
那难以跨入的浴缸
脚不着地的马桶
是的
是该死的美国马桶
让他一下子跌回了
现实

for him to get used to the grandiose dreams
of Imperial Russia—
the imposing columns
the onion domes
the magnificent churches
the even more magnificent palaces
the biggest cannon the heaviest bell the tallest statue
and in the five-star hotel
the insurmountable bathtub
the elevated toilet...
In fact it was the homely American toilet
that plunged him back
to earth
