籍属湖北，地接湘西。箫韶九成，凤凰来仪。远山如障，丘陵如棋。仙佛石窟，于此肇基。

酉水九曲回环，金光映照；龙山十里相峙，似献珠宝。崖壁风藏气聚，遥接地脉；神龛水秀山明，暗合天道。云行灵山，仙气飘飘；风过古寺，梵音袅袅。声名远播于天下，千里来朝；神灵每显于当时，万人祈祷。张某何幸，能瞻佛之圣容；神灵有知，休嫌吾之将老。

走进广场，明明皇皇。佛光普照，檀木流香。风调雨顺之联，寓意深远；国泰民安之字，气势飞扬。绕过八门，穿过牌坊。四座石桥，如虹霓跨过碧水；数根华表，似宝剑刺破云苍。沿石梯而上，飒飒仙气；对牌匾而视，闪闪金光。身前有路，必正步而行；身后有岸，待回头一望。我不回头，我心堂堂，人要回头，非指老张。

步入潭边，仰瞻佛龛。一龛一佛，一佛一颜。栩栩如生，须眉皓然。或慈眉善目，或庄重威严，或神态安详，或昏昏欲眠。集大成于清朝末期，始开凿于咸康元年。雨打风吹，虽千年而不朽；日晒夜露，竟四龛而齐全。河流清澈如镜，倒映其面；春风温柔如水，沐浴其间。善男信女，络绎不绝；贪官污吏，踟蹰不前。老张来此，身无一钱。心香一柱，以示虔虔。

登临寺顶，晨曦初露。祥云似蒸，碧浪如煮。一望气象万千，缘有仙佛眷顾。水云氤氲，时时跃鱼飞鸢；江山毓秀，处处藏龙卧虎。两城相依，一江中分；两省相隔，一桥可渡。高楼如林，犹雨后之春笋；沃野如画，是农民之蓝图。湘鄂联动，小城市变成大市场；文旅升级，矮门槛变成高门户。规划形成，一任接着一任干；产业奠定，一家带动千家富。

老张住在隔壁县，几日不来惊巨变。明年再来知如何？且问仙佛寺里燕。

Ode to Xianfo Temple, Laifeng

Hubei bounds its land, western Hunan lies adjacent near.

When grand melodies resound, auspicious phoenixes appear.

Far mountains stand like ramparts, rolling hills spread as chess squares;

here rises the grotto shrine of Xianfo Temple fair.

The winding Youshui River twists and turns ninefold, bathed in golden glow;

Longshan Mountain stretches ten miles afar, like gems bestowed to show.

Cliffside gathers vital essence linked to earthly veins profound;

niches nest amid fine hills and clear streams, aligned with heaven's bound.

Clouds drift o'er sacred peaks, immortal aura fills the air;

winds sweep through ancient halls, Buddhist chants float everywhere.

Its fame spreads far and wide, pilgrims journey from afar;

divine blessings manifest oft, crowds come to pray and bar.

Fortunate am I to gaze upon the sacred Buddha face;

may deities take no offence at this aging mortal's grace.

Stepping into the spacious square, brightness meets the eye.

Buddha's light sheds universal grace, sandalwood fragrance drifts on high.

Couplets pray for timely wind and rain, bearing profound intent;

inscriptions bless the nation peace and people's contentment unspent.

Past eight gates and memorial archways we wander slow;

four stone bridges arch like rainbows o'er clear waters below.

Ornamental pillars stand upright, piercing pale clouded sky;

we climb stone steps upward, surrounded by ethereal majesty nigh.

Glancing up at inscribed plaques gilded brightly in the sun,

we tread the path upright, with honest hearts and steadfast run.

Behind lies the worldly shore, where folk may turn their gaze;

I hold unswerving faith, no backward glance my spirit raises.

Reaching the poolside, we look up at Buddha shrines with awe.

Each niche enshrines one Buddha, each bearing distinct mien and law.

Lifelike in every detail, grey beards and brows discern;

some wear gentle kindly eyes, some solemn dignity discern.

Some bear serene tranquil looks, some seem slumbering soft and mild.

Carvings commenced in Xiankang reign, perfected in late Qing wild.

Through millenniums of wind and rain, carvings still intact abide;

four complete niches withstand sun and moon, time cannot their beauty hide.

Crystal river mirrors holy figures on its glassy tide;

soft vernal breezes caress the sacred statues side by side.

Devout believers come in endless streams to worship and implore;

corrupt officials linger hesitant, dare not step foot more.

I come with empty pockets, no worldly wealth to offer here;

a heartful incense lit alone reveals my sincere reverence sincere.

Ascending to the temple summit, morning dawn begins to break.

Auspicious clouds surge upward, blue waves boil and ripple wake.

Vast magnificent scenes unfold, blessed by immortals and divine;

mist shrouds water and clouds, fish leap and kites freely climb.

Land nurtures outstanding souls, hidden talents dwell in hills and rills;

two cities stand abreast, divided by the river thrills.

Two provinces stand apart, yet one bridge links their distant lands;

tall buildings rise in clusters like spring bamboo after rains.

Fertile farmlands stretch like paintings, bearing farmers' hopeful plans;

Hunan and Hubei join hands, small towns expand to bustling business lands.

Cultural tourism thrives, opening wider prosperous doors;

steady consistent governance fulfills successive planned chores.

Solid industries take root, one household prospers thousands more.

I dwell in a neighboring county, stunned by drastic changes seen these days.

What new scenes will greet my eyes when I return next spring's soft haze?

I leave the question to the swallows nesting in Xianfo Temple's eaves.

植根武陵山水，深耕土家文脉；从政恪尽职守，从文翰墨千秋。张祥志先生，身兼政务履历与文艺大成，以家国情怀落笔诗词楹联，凭深厚造诣享誉中外艺坛，成就斐然，声名远播寰宇。

张祥志，男，土家族，1956年出生于湖北宣恩。大专文化，中共党员，贸易经济师。仕途履历丰厚，曾任中共宣恩县纪律检查委员会常委、宣恩县劳动和社会保障局副局长兼县劳动就业管理局局长、宣恩县人力资源和社会保障局主任科员，职级晋升县处级副职。艺术身份荟萃群英，现为世界华人华侨艺术家联合会、中华诗词学会、中华当代文学学会、中国诗词家协会、中国楹联学会、湖北省中华诗词学会、湖北省楹联学会、恩施土家族苗族自治州诗词楹联学会、宣恩县诗词楹联学会会员。历任湖北省中华诗词学会、湖北省楹联学会、恩施土家族苗族自治州诗词楹联学会理事，宣恩县文联委员，宣恩县诗词楹联学会原副会长兼秘书长，《凌云风》会刊编委原副主任、原副主编、原执行主编。

同时受聘担任中国传统文化诗书画协会理事、中国诗词家协会理事、中华诗词创作研究院理事、中国名家诗书画院院士；特聘为第二届中国文艺至尊奖评委副主席、法兰西皇家画院院士、瑞典皇家画院外籍终身院士暨名誉教授、东京国家文化研究院名誉院长、中国文人研究院名誉院长、法国皇家艺术学院外籍名誉院长、圣彼得堡艺术研究院院士；任北京润格艺术品鉴定中心首席评估鉴定顾问，受邀出任中国艺术纪录片网艺术委员会名誉主席。

早在2002年8月，便被国际名人交流中心授予世界知名人士荣誉称号；2003年，经中共恩施州委审定，光荣入选百年清江人物。数十载潜心创作、笔耕不辍，累计原创诗词3000余首（阕）、楹联600余副、辞赋20余篇、歌词20余首。个人从政履职事迹及诗词、楹联、辞赋、散文、歌词等精品力作，先后入编世界级、国家级、省级及地方各类典籍丛书、报刊杂志百余部。

Profile of the Writer

Rooted in the landscapes of Wuling and dedicated to Tujia cultural heritage, Mr. Zhang Xiangzhi has served diligently in government posts while devoting himself to literary creation throughout his life. With patriotism embodied in his poems, ci poems and couplets, he has earned outstanding achievements and worldwide renown with profound artistic attainments.

Mr. Zhang Xiangzhi, male, of Tujia ethnicity, was born in Xuan’en, Hubei Province in 1956. He holds a college diploma, is a member of the Communist Party of China, and is a certified trade economist. During his official career, he once served as Member of the Standing Committee of Xuan’en County Commission for Discipline Inspection, Deputy Director of Xuan’en County Bureau of Human Resources and Social Security concurrently Director of Xuan’en County Employment Administration Bureau, and Principal Staff Member of Xuan’en County Bureau of Human Resources and Social Security. He was promoted to the sub-county-level leading position.

In literary and artistic circles, he is currently a member of the World Federation of Overseas Chinese Artists, Chinese Poetry Society, Contemporary Chinese Literature Society, Chinese Poets Association, Chinese Couplet Society, Hubei Chinese Poetry Society, Hubei Couplet Society, Enshi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture Poetry and Couplet Society, as well as Xuan’en County Poetry and Couplet Society. He once served as Director of Hubei Chinese Poetry Society, Hubei Couplet Society and Enshi Prefecture Poetry and Couplet Society, Member of Xuan’en County Federation of Literary and Art Circles, Former Vice President and Secretary-General of Xuan’en County Poetry and Couplet Society, Former Deputy Director of Editorial Board, Former Deputy Editor-in-Chief and Former Executive Editor-in-Chief of the journal Lingyunfeng.

He also holds concurrent positions as Director of Chinese Traditional Culture Poetry, Calligraphy and Painting Association, Director of Chinese Poets Association, Director of Chinese Poetry Creation Research Institute and Academician of China Famous Artists Academy of Poetry, Calligraphy and Painting. He was specially appointed as Vice Chairman of the Jury for the 2nd China Supreme Literature & Art Award, Academician of Royal Academy of Fine Arts of France, Lifetime Foreign Academician and Honorary Professor of Royal Academy of Fine Arts of Sweden, Honorary President of Tokyo National Culture Research Institute, Honorary President of Chinese Literati Research Institute, Foreign Honorary President of Royal Academy of Art France, and Academician of St. Petersburg Academy of Arts. As early as August 2002, he was awarded the honorary title of World Famous Person by the International Celebrity Exchange Center. In 2003, he was selected into Centennial Figures of Qingjiang River upon official approval by the CPC Enshi Prefectural Committee. Decades of persistent writing have witnessed his fruitful creations, including more than 3,000 poems and ci poems, over 600 couplets, more than 20 fu prose works and over 20 original lyrics. In March 2025, he received the UNESCO Cultural & Art Monument Award and the UNESCO Art Honor Medal. He was honored as UNESCO Art Spokesperson and Guardian of Common Cultural Heritage of Mankind, and appointed Vice Chairman of UNESCO Cultural & Art Evaluation Committee.

In April 2025, he was awarded the title of International Peace Meritorious Artist, Lifetime Art Achievement Award and International Gold Medal Artist, and obtained the professional certificate of World-Class Doctor of Art. He attended the China-Europe International Fine Art Exhibition and was granted the honorary title of China-Europe Cultural Communication Ambassador together with official medal and certificate.

In June 2025, he won the Forbes Highest International Art Honor Award, titled International Art Leader and Forbes Artist of the Year, and was invited to serve as Honorary Consultant of Ivy League Universities Alliance in the United States.

In September 2025, he claimed the Global Overseas Chinese Supreme Gold Art Award, and was named Winner of World Art Award 2025, One of the Top Ten Global Outstanding Influential Figures of 2025 and the World’s Most Influential Artist.

In December 2025, he was conferred the honorary title of BRICS Artist.

In 2026, he was honored as State Gift Artist for Permanent Five UN Members in New Year Celebration. He won the Republic Renaissance Award of the Great Era, and was titled Founder of People’s Literary and Art Undertakings in the New Era as well as One of the Top Ten Literary Meritorious Figures of the Republic. He received the Community of Shared Future for Mankind · UN Human Civilization Peace Guardian Award and the Human Civilization Peace Guardian Medal, and was awarded supreme honors including Defender of World Peace Culture and One of the Top Ten Outstanding Literary & Art Figures Universally Recognized by the United Nations.
