Sixteen poems in the Bilingual (Chinese and English) Neo-Sensualist School of Poetry, "When That Moment Comes"
I. When That Moment Comes (Micro-Group)
Ji Junqun/Brazil
1. I wish to transform into a chrysanthemum of Taihang, grasping the stars and moon
Counting the hands of the wind
In the crevices of the rocks, waiting for the lantern bearer to take away my gaze
2. Hoping the roots will grow thicker and longer, coiling in the darkness
The flowing water repeatedly kisses the rings of time
—The sound of oars rises from the depths of memory
3. Exclaiming, "It's a letter sent by an angel!"—
The sound of the waves finally whispers with the falling leaves
Gently placing the code in the fisherman's palm
4. The river holds its breath—
The morning glow lifts the lotus boat
A pure heart sails towards the shore long awaited for many years
II. When That Moment Comes (Micro-Group)
Ji Junqun/Brazil
1. In an instant, peach blossoms spread across early spring—
Savoring the hand you handed 1. The green plums that arrived were more than just sour and astringent.
2. Vows, like a gentle breeze brushing the shore.
Fireflies, though faint, dyed the summer night crimson.
—until the autumn wind swept away the last vestiges of warmth.
3. Suddenly, my heart sank into a cold pool.
The sedan chair moved on, the figure growing farther and farther away.
The autumn moon became a solitary witness, gazing across the river.
4. The bright moon finally pierced the thick darkness.
In the cold light, the bamboo horse traversed time and space—
A withered plum tree sprouted red stamens, and the wasteland awakened.
III. When That Moment Arrived
Ji Junqun/Brazil
How I long to scoop up starlight and tailor it into a wedding dress
Just for you—
That smile, like moonlight spreading across the wasteland.
IV. When That Moment Arrived
Ji Junqun/Brazil
The herding song lingered, hard to dispel.
A burning gaze—
Intending to penetrate the wall, to lift up the archway that had weighed on me for so many years.
V. When That Moment Arrived
Ji Junqun / Brazil
Greedily accepting, a sliver of spring sunshine leaking out
—As if the letter hadn't been opened, tender
When the gaze trembled slightly, fingertips had already lifted a corner of red
VI. When That Moment Arrives
Ji Junqun / Brazil
Tighter, indistinguishable between male and female bodies
Fearless of the mingling of sweat
A moment of letting go, and what was once close becomes an eternity
VII. When That Moment Arrives
Ji Junqun / Brazil
The shadows of migratory birds' wings cut through the clouds
The horizon trembled slightly in whispers—
Spring is awakening from the depths of the leaf veins
VIII. When That Moment Arrives
Ji Junqun / Brazil
I don't know if the rain outside the window has stopped
Holding my breath—
I feel like a little rabbit is about to burst my chest
IX. When That Moment Arrives
Ji Junqun / Brazil
The pendulum stops, all sounds recede—
Frozen into the background
Only that beam of light flows upstream,
Sinking into the depths of my eyes
X. When That Moment Arrives
Ji Junqun / Brazil
Shedding its timid blue robe—
Regardless of the cold light tearing through the fabric, the earth trembling and holding its breath
The pointer pierces the air, shattering the ghostly flames in the beast's eyes
XI. When That Moment Comes
Ji Junqun/Brazil
The smoke of war, soaking the dawn's crimson hue
The long sword, drawn
Resolutely, cleaving through the vast, ten-mile-long wild goose formation
XII. When That Moment Comes
Ji Junqun/Brazil
The sword is drawn, the mountains and rivers tremble three times
—A cold light flashes past
The enemy's shadow, shattered into ink dots still wet in the inkstone
XIII. When That Moment Comes
Ji Junqun/Brazil
At this moment, I am willing to be a stepping stone
Quickly climb the steps—
It will lead to the heaven and earth you prayed for
XIV. When That Moment Comes
Ji Junqun /Brazil
Climbing the Milky Way, I would melt ninety-nine clusters of starlight
to condense into a token—
Even if it's only enough to illuminate a fleeting moment in your eyes
XV. When That Moment Arrives
Ji Junqun/Brazil
Just like the sound of the tide overflowing the embankment—
The monsoon gently caresses the awakening mountains
The trickle eventually becomes a river, every drop rushing towards the spring sunshine
XVI. When That Moment Arrives
Ji Junqun/Brazil
I wish to condense into a lotus petal
to entrust to you—
to ferry you to the land of water and clouds, to dwell in the Peach Blossom Spring of your dreams
