波音飞机像一只大鸟

我钻进它的肚子里

穿越了赤道

进入南半球柔软的腹地

航线像极了X射线

穿越一个人的身体时

人间的好心情

恍若雅拉河畔清澈的水

外孙女䈄儿送给我一幅画

尽管粗枝大叶

稚气扑鼻，无需翻译

全世界的画眉都会入迷

我喜上眉梢，抚掌而笑

笑声比喜鹊的尾巴还长些

如此直率的表达

通常我都不让大人听

The Boeing, a great bird of metal,

opened its belly—

I slipped inside,

crossed the equator,

and entered the tender underbelly

of the southern world.

The flight path glowed like an X-ray,

passing through a body—

the pulse of human joy,

clear as the Yarra’s edge of water.

My granddaughter, 䈄儿,

gave me a drawing—

rough, artless,

yet breathing the scent of spring.

No translation needed;

every thrush in the world would be entranced.

Joy leapt to my brows;

I clapped and laughed—

a laugh that stretched longer

than a magpie’s tail.

Such naked delight,

I seldom let the grown-ups hear.
