Three Poems in Praise of Teachers

Preface
The Teachers' Day comes again. Looking back on my twenty years of studying, from primary school to postgraduate studies, I have been taught by more than a hundred teachers. Some were gentle, some were kind, some were strict. Every bit of their kindness is kept in my memory, so I compose these three regulated verses to express my feelings.
I. Teachers' Love
The podium holds warm feelings;
The chalk writes tender care.
After class, you ask about our cold and warmth;
By the dim light, you ease our worries.
Bending down, you help the weak ones grow;
Looking up, you guide us toward lofty goals.
Though not related by blood,
Your love is as selfless as an ox serving the young.
II. Teachers' Kindness
You impart knowledge to dispel ignorance;
You pass on the light to break through the mist.
Your kindness is like the abundant spring rain;
Your instructive words are as continuous as a thread.
We once stayed up late together under the lamp;
You always urge us to brave the waves like a boat.
This kindness is engraved in my heart,
And I dare not let my virtuous teachers down.
III. Teachers' Strictness
In teaching, you show no partiality or indulgence;
In correcting compositions, you follow strict rules.
Mistakes in writing are marked and corrected with a red pen;
Lazy students are sternly disciplined.
You often warn us against frivolous thoughts;
You always teach us to inherit practical knowledge.
Under your strict guidance today,
We will climb high and achieve success tomorrow.
