Sunset Reverie
Wu Yuguang
In the chamber of my
heart,
You are the crescent
moon
Hung by the small
window—
A silvery cascade of
moonlight
Spills over my sill,
adrift with wistful dreams.
On nights without you,
I pillow my head on
starlight,
On a gentle gaze from afar,
On a distilled landscap-e of longing,
And slip softly into
dreams.
Upon the sea of my
heart,
You are the slender
moon,
Bearing a shard of the galaxy’s timeless glow.
Rowing through the
darkness,
Your reflection ripples
in my heart’s waters—
A small and earnest
boat
Swaying gently toward me.
The rising waves
Become your
whispered words,
Spreading in ripples to the shore’s very edge…
The still lake of my
heart
Holds a mirror to vast
silence—
There you are, in the
quiet,
Strumming a melody
of tender sorrow.
And so, to morning
bells and evening
drums,
As the sun descends in the west,
A subtle, lingering
sentiment
Enchants the rainbow-kissed horizon.
My heart remains—romantic, steadfast.
Nothing compares to
the beauty of sunset,
So warm, so serene…
