在昏暗的沙漠公路上 风吹发间有些微凉；
科里塔斯的浓郁馨香 正在空中升腾而上。
我抬头向着远方遥望 看到一丝闪烁的灯光，
我开始感到头昏目眩 难以继续驱车如常，
只能找个地方 度过晚上时光。
就在那个地方 她恰好伫立于门廊——
我听到教堂钟声正在敲响，
而我当时心中也在不由暗想：
这地方 有可能是地狱 也有可能是天堂。
然后她将烛光点亮，
她也为我指引着方向。
此时沿着走廊 正传来阵阵声响，
我想 我听到他们是在宣讲：
“欢迎光临加州旅馆——
多么迷人的地方，多么迷人的面庞。
加州旅馆拥有充足的客房，
一年中任何时光 这地方都恭候你来访！”
她的心沉迷珠光宝气已执迷不悟；
她为能坐拥奔驰豪车而甘为俘虏；
她拥有风流少年数不胜数 都伴其左右——
但她统统称其为朋友。
他们在庭院里起舞何其欢愉，
任由夏日香汗淋漓——
有人起舞是为记取 有人起舞则为忘记。
于是我呼叫领班“请为我取来些酒”，
他答复 自1969年后我们已经不再拥有此物。
而自那远方 依然在不断传来那些声响，
令你惊醒 就在漫漫长夜的中央，
只听到他们在宣讲：
“欢迎光临加州旅馆——
多么迷人的地方，多么迷人的面庞。”
他们在加州旅馆不拘一格尽情享乐，
迷人景色不容错过 使你有着绝佳开脱。
天花板镶嵌着反光镜 粉红香槟搁置于冰中，
而她说我们悉数 只是这里的囚徒，
受困于自身欲望的束缚。
而就在旅馆主人的房间里，
他们为丰盛宴席而欢聚，
他们合力 挥舞着手中的锋利刀具，
但却偏偏对猎杀野兽无能为力。
我持有的最后印象，
是我正跑向门口的方向——
我必须找到来时途经的走廊，
以返还我先前所在的地方。
“莫要紧张，”守夜人对着我讲——
“我们生来就是诱惑难当。
你可以随时随意选择结帐退房，
但你永远无法离得开这地方。”

Just to hear them say

They live it up at the Hotel California
What a nice surprise, bring your alibis
Mirrors on the ceiling, the pink champagne on ice
And she said we are all just prisoners here
Of our own device
And in the master’s chambers
They gathered for the feast
They stab it with their steely knives
But they just can’t kill the beast

I was running for the door
I had to find the passage back
To the place I was before
