Mother was sitting on that short wooden stool
Sewing and mending clothes for the children with flying needles and threads
One cotton-padded jacket after another, one dressing-up after another
Our future
When we grew up, the children one by one became pillars of the country
Smoke was wafting in the kitchen
Simple meals were the deep affection of mother
In the cold winter months, with gusts of cold wind and a chilly weather
Hoeing winter wheat alone on that steep hillside
Hoping that the children grow up healthy and happy
