天命玄鳥

天命玄鳥，降而生商，宅殷土芒芒。

古帝命武湯，正域彼四方。

方命厥後，奄有九有。商之先後，受命不殆，在武丁孫子。

武丁孫子，武王靡不勝。龍旂十乘，大糦是承。

邦畿千裏，維民所止，肇域彼四海。四海來假，來假祁祁。

景員維河。殷受命鹹宜，百祿是何。（选自商頌）

Mystic Bird

A mystic bird from heaven,

The Mother of Shang Dynasty, 

Whose land of Yin is vast and diverse. 

Its Emporer named it Wutang, 

Ruling over neighboring states.

Proclaiming to all the principals, 

He is the ruler of the world. 

Every Shang Dynasty ruler

Takes his responsibility dutifully, 

Especially the grandson Wuding,

Who inherited all the glories of Shang. 

Escorted in ten vehicles with dragon flags,

Offering tributes with wines and foods. 

Thousands of miles are the rich land, 

Nourishing the citizens of the state,

That extends to Four Seas,

From where all foreigners arrive, 

And in massive crowds. 

The Capital is encircled by rivers,

The Yin people live in wonderful peace 

and enjoy a great prosperity
