是分别太久吗

为什么沉积的岁月

总是燃烧着一种渴望

是落叶归根吗

为什么生命的枝头

难以承载一片叶的重量

回家   回家   回家

不再等待   不再彷徨

一颗久违的心伴着滚滚的车轮飞翔

又见炊烟袅袅升起

又闻那久违的芳香

故乡   斜躺在夕阳里

像是思考   又像是凝望

翠绿环绕下显得格外地端庄       

这是我生命初始汲取营养的地方

这是我羽翼渐丰厚积薄发的地方

这是我相思河畔魂牵梦绕的地方

这是我走了很远很远却难以走出的地方

故乡  我的故乡

这里曾经住着我的父老乡亲

还有生我养我的爹娘

沿着记忆中斑驳的老巷

去寻找那段逝去的时光

兜兜转转

哪里是我停泊的港湾

哪里是我游玩的麦场

哪里是我提水的老井

哪里是我喜戏的池塘

往事不堪回首

记忆中的一切

早已物是人非   变了模样

不见了泥泞的道路

不见了低矮的草房

一座座新居宽敞明亮

这边是新修的公路

那边是新建的学堂

这边是规划的小区

那边是落成的广场

这里处处洋溢着新农村的繁荣景象

心依旧   情何往

那熟悉的面孔如今去了何方

是留守田园照顾儿孙

还是外出漂泊流浪

是在凄凉的碑林里安歇

还是依旧躬耕陇亩老当益壮

唯有故乡的小河静静地流淌

这是祖先的河流啊

洋溢着勤劳  质朴  善良的古韵

激荡着不屈不挠的倔强

无论喜怒哀乐

总是把本色刻在脸上

返璞归真  思绪如风

功名利禄皆成过往

唯有深沉的爱挥之不去

随小村的夜色飘荡

沿着来时的路   拾阶而上

我在想

是谁给了我们宝贵生命

是谁抚育了我们茁壮成长

是谁用布满老茧的大手

把我们高高举过头顶

举过饥寒交迫的年代

举过童年     举过辉煌

归途有期    相思无限

Is it too long since we were separated?

Why the years of deposition

always burning with a desire

Is it fallen leaves returning to their roots?

Why are the branches of life

Difficulty carrying the weight of a leaf

Go home, go home and going home 

No more waiting, no more hesitation 

A long-lost heart flies with the rolling wheels

I see the smoke rising from the kitchen again

Smell the long-lost fragrance again

Home-town reclining in the sunset 

like thinking, like staring 

Surrounded by emerald green, it looks extraordinarily dignified

This is where my life's initial nourishment

This is where my wings grow

This is the place I always dream of by the Acacia River

This is the place I've travelled so far but can't get out of

Home-town, my home-town 

My parents and folks used to live here

And my parents who gave birth to me and raised me

Along the mottled old alleys in my memory

To find the lost time 

Going around

Where is my harbour to stay? 

Where is the wheat field I played?

Where is the old well I picked up water? 

Where is my favourite pond I liked? 

Past was unbearable to recall 

Everything in memory 

Things have long changed, changed appearance

No muddy road any-more 

The low grass houses are gone

One by one bright and spacious new residences 

This is the new road

There is a new school over there

This is the planned area

Over there is the completed square

Everywhere is filled with the prosperity of the new countryside

My heart is still, where is my loved one?

Where is that familiar face now?

Are they to stay in the countryside to take care of children and grandchildren

Or go wandering faraway

Are they resting in the desolate Forest of Steles? 

Or they are still working hard to cultivate long acres, growing old and growing strong 

Only the small river in my home-town flows quietly

This is the river of ancestors

Full of industrious, simple and kind ancient rhyme

Stirring with indomitable stubbornness

Whether happy or sad 

Always put it true colours on its face

Back to basics, thoughts like wind

Fame and fortune are a thing of the past

Only deep love lingers

Floating with the night of the small village

Follow the way I came, climb up the stairs

I'm thinking

Is who gave us precious life 

Is who nurtured us to thrive 

Is who used calloused hands 

lift us high above their heads

Through the age of hunger and cold 

Lift up childhood, lift up glory

There is a long way to go home, love-sickness is infinite

A trip to home-town,  a lifetime love for home-town

Standing at the entrance of the village and looking back

An unspeakable bitterness overflows my atrium

Home-town is always an old song that can never be sung 

Home-town is always a pot of old wine that can't be drunk 

Home-town, my home-town, your plants and trees 

Together with eight thousand miles of clouds and moons
