I. 元日

王安石

爆竹声中一岁除，

春风送暖入屠苏。 

千门万户曈曈日，

总把新桃换旧符。

Another year vanishes with Firework smoke,

Warm spring quietly sneaks into households. 

Opening doors and windows embrace a fresh sunshine, 

New lucky charms are up blessing a prosperous time.

II. 乡愁

席慕蓉

故乡的歌是一支清远的笛

总在有月亮的晚上响起

故乡的面貌却是一种模糊的怅望

仿佛雾里的挥手别离

离别後

乡愁是一棵没有年轮的树

永不老去

Hometown's melody is like a flute, distant and lyrical,

That plays at night whenever the Moon is lustrous and crystal.

Hometown's image becomes vague with a sorrowful yearning,

Like those hands in the fog, waving and then fading.

Adieu and thereafter,

My homesickness turns into an ageless tree,

Forever green.
