1. 等你，在桥上
等你，在桥上
在玉兰掩映的拱桥上
你走过我身边
深情一望
从此，那眼神就让我迷惘
等你，在桥上
在荷花满塘的拱桥上
你走过我身边
嫣然一笑
从此，那笑就占满我心房
等你，在桥上
在百合遍岸的拱桥上
你走过我身边
滑落了披肩
从此，我就仔细把它珍藏
等你，在桥上
在放眼杜鹃的拱桥上
你走过我身边
我递过披肩
这一次，你停住了脚
你问我为何一直走上这座桥
我说等你
我问你为何一直来到这座桥
你说等我
人生这座桥
它的名字叫缘份桥
真诚与忠贞的脚步
定会走出一串爱的等号
1. Waiting for You on the Bridge
I’m waiting for you on the bridge --
an arched bridge shaded by magnolias
You walk by
giving me an affectionate look
Since then, that look has mesmerized me
I’m waiting for you on the bridge --
an arched bridge with a pool of lotus flowers underneath
You walk by
bestowing on me a charming smile
Since then, that smile has taken my whole heart
I’m waiting for you on the bridge --
an arched bridge with lily-covered banks
You walk by
and your scarf slips off
Since then, I’ve carefully kept it with me
I’m waiting for you on the bridge --
an arched bridge with a full view of azaleas ahead
You walk by
and I hand over your scarf
This time, you’ve stopped walking
You ask me why I always come onto this bridge
I say I am waiting for you
I ask you why you always come onto this bridge
you say you are waiting for me
This bridge in our life
is called the Bridge of Karmic Marriage
on which, our sincere and loyal footsteps
will surely imprint the equal sign of love
2. 树与藤
爱你
就要
牢牢地扎下根
为你凭空支起
一个可以依靠的身
爱你
就要
直直地挺起腰
不论风吹雨打
都要让你攀附缠绕
爱你
就要
努力汲取养分
不断健壮自己
把你带到九宵云梢
那时
身虽已斑驳
心却更紧贴
我牵着你
你拉着我
在苍茫人世间
留下一道美丽风景
2. The Tree and the Vine
If I love you
I will
root deeply and firmly
to set up without any prop
a body for you to hold on to
If I love you
I will
straighten up my back
for you to lean on
whether there is wind or rain
If I love you
I will
work hard to absorb nutrition
and strengthen myself
so I can bring you up to the sky
By then
although my body is scarred and mottled
our hearts will be closer
I will hold on to you
and you will hold on to me
to leave behind us a beautiful scene
in the vast world

昨夜
月光下
薰风中
你晃着婀娜的身姿
幻想与心上人同舞
一梦醒来
你依旧孑然一身
在那里
低着头
苦苦等待
默默思念
你纯洁，高贵，惊艳
出污泥而不染

不屑与浪荡浮萍为伍
不屑与惹花蜻蜓为伴

直到藕身洞孔熬满

直到蓬身满眼望穿
你的白马王子仍旧没有来

3. The Lotus
Last night
under the moon
in a balmy breeze
you sway your graceful body
while imagine yourself dancing with your sweet heart
When awake from the dream
you find yourself still alone
You stand there
bending your head over
waiting in anxiety
and longing in silence
You are chaste, noble, and surprisingly beautiful
You rise unsullied from mud
you
disdain to stay with flirting duckweed
and hate to accompany playful dragonflies
You stand there
bending your head over
waiting in anxiety
and longing in silence
You wait and wait
until all your lower body hollows out into air pockets
You look and look
until all your lotus eyes are strained
Yet still, your prince charming has not arrived
and yet still, your passion for him remains
You stand there
bending your head over
waiting in anxiety
and longing in silence
Even if a curious person cuts your body into two pieces
your passion remains undetached
4. 柳与溪
冥冥中
是谁让你我牵手
却不让我们同走
我天天在路边潺潺
祈祷着等你几十年
你来了
只是站在我身旁
低着头把我凝望
你望着我
进入我的眼帘
深入我的心窝
我望着你
收你入我的眸
存在我的心头
你守在我身旁
天天为我婀娜舞蹈
我守在你身旁
天天为你动情长歌
世上最残酷的爱
莫过于你和我
近在咫尺
却不能相依同行
只能
你望着我
我望着你
任绵绵爱意飞絮而去
任缠缠情意空流而走
4. The Willow and the Stream
Who in the unknown world
lets you and me hold hands
but doesn’t let us journey together
Every day I murmur by the roadside
praying for dozens of years for you to come
You come
yet only to stand by myside
lowering your head to look at me
You look at me
into my eyes
and down into my heart
I watch you
capturing the image of your pupil
and imprinting it in my heart
You guard me by myside
and dance gently for me everyday
I guard you by your side
and sing touchingly for you everyday
The cruelest love in this world
is the one between you and me
for we are so close to each other
but can never journey together
What we can only do is
you look at me
and I watch you
while lamenting the drifting away of your love with the catkins
and the flowing away of my love over the stream

有人说
杨柳轻飘
似水无常
不
我说不——
我爱杨柳
爱她不象其它乔木
昂首冲天
奢望高远
她玉立在
檐前屋后溪旁
守着家院
护着故乡
我爱杨柳
爱她不象其它乔木
挺胸扬面
趾高气昂
她谦卑地
低着头耷着肩
掩面垂帘
从不它顾
我爱杨柳
爱她不象其它乔木
迎风喧嚣
哗哗作响
她顺从地
轻轻地摇啊摇
随风而舞
顺应流变
她
风姿绰约
犹如窈窕素女
冰清玉洁
就像贞洁贵妇

安谧于朦胧烟雨
飞絮于明媚春光
轻舞于惠风秋阳

Some say
the willow has a floating nature
like water, unstable
No，
I’d say no ---
I love the willow ---
I love it for it is unlike other trees
that look up into the sky
and extravagantly hope to reach far and high
She gracefully stands
In front of the house, in the rear, or by a creek
guarding her home
and her birthplace
I love the willow ---
I love it for it is unlike other trees
that thrust out their chests and lift their faces
pompous and arrogant
She humbly
lowers her head and loosens her shoulders
covering her face with hands and unrolled curtains
only minding her own matters
I love the willow ---
I love it for it is unlike other trees
that clamor in wind
and make a lot of noises
She obediently
sways herself
dancing with the wind
and following its beat
She
is charming and graceful
like a dainty beauty
clear as crystal and pure as jade
and chase as a noble lady
She
settles in the misty drizzle
flies its catkins in the spring sunlight
and dances in the balmy wind or under the autumn sun
She
sways and sways
sways and sways
from the ancient times to this day
6. 你是那月亮，我是那钱塘
你不忍心看我伤疼
悄悄从我身后离开
你带着一脸忧思
游走天涯
夜夜难归
我荡着一塘思潮
留守海边
夜夜盼你
你我远隔千里
心却永远相印
每当夜色降临
想我
你拨开云雾
把我遥望
皎好的面容投我心上

我敞开胸怀
把你迎接
粼粼的波涛抚你倩影

天地见证

日月明鉴

6. You are that Moon and I am that Qiantang River
Not to sadden me
you sneak away from behind
With a face full of brooding expressions
you journey in the sky
unable to return any night
Rippling a river full of thought streams
I stay by the sea
hoping each night you would return
Although we are a thousand li apart
we are close in heart
When night falls
longing for me
you open the clouds
to gaze at me
casting your lovely facial image into my heart

I open my bosom

the crystalline waves stroking your agreeable image
Your love
is witnessed by the Earth and the Heaven
My loyalty
attested by the sun and the moon
When you can no longer stand the torture of love
you move toward me
and my love-waves surge up
When I can no longer bear the pain of love
I surge up toward you
and you attract me with your gravity
With my love and company
you appear especially bright in the sky
With your love and company
I am especially resplendent in the great river
The scene of the moon over the Qiantang River
is the scene of Qiantang River under the moon

是一丸

让我辗转反侧

Sleepless pill

Tossing and turning in bed

我看着你清澈的眼睛
温柔一笑
你又问我什么是意境
我看着你动人的脸庞
还是温柔一笑
你不解地看着我
全然不知
你就是我心中完美的诗
8. You Are a Perfect Poem to Me
You lift your head asking me what poetry is
I look into your limpid eyes
and just give you a gentle smile
You then ask me what imagery is
I look at your charming face
And just give you another smile
You look at me confused
Not knowing
I am reading a perfect poem in my heart

徐英才，原复旦英语教师，现美国德宝大学汉学老师，华人诗学会会长，汉英双语纸质诗刊《诗殿堂》总编，有多部译著出版，其中汉英译著《英译唐宋八大家散文精选》和《英译中国经典散文选》曾由中国赠送美国林肯中学。
Xu Yingcai, a former Fudan English teacher, now a teacher of Chinese Studies in DePaul University, President of Chinese Poetry Association, and Editor-in-Chief for Poetry Hall – A Chinese and English bilingual journal, has multiple translation books published. His translations Selected Translation of Eight Tang & Song Prose Masters and Selected Translation of Chinese Prose Classics were once the gifts Chinese government gave to Lincoln High School USA.
