Built by Peace
Rows of colorful houses
Like pastel candies wrapped in a box,
Vibrant, unique, as those who dwell there
Are lined across streets upended, torn by war,
But not broken.
A church of blue and gold,
With its gleaming dome, filigreed,
Crowned with crosses, still stands
Strong as the soldiers
Who keep vigil in the starless nights,
Always ready to protect freedom,
Their fortitude is what shines brightest, despite the dark night.
Art and architecture, buildings reaching for the sky, heaven’s heights,
Remain, monuments to past tradition
That are only shadows of the beauty
Of the people inside, who are building and mending,
Sewing together the holes in the fabric created by change.
The love of peace is inextinguishable, immortal,
In the souls of the people,
Which will live forever.
正似包装在盒中的彩糖;
