瞬间变得黑沉沉

Became deep dark in an instant

The earth is silent

The heaven and earth are crying

The people of the whole country have a sad heart

Tears in eyes

Put our hands together in prayer and watch all the way

Academician Yuan Longping, Father of Rice in Our Republic

We wish you go all the way well

Spring silkworm till its death spins silk from lovesick heart, 

The candles but when burned up have no tears to shed.

For the food of China’s 1.4 billion people

Whether it's the severe winter with the cold wind

Or in hot with the scorching sun on the top

Our ninety-year-old Old Yuan

You will always be the watcher in the rice field

You won numerous honors and awards

But you will always hold your two dreams in your life

Devoted your life's energy to it

You are the hero of our time

There are only stars and the sea in your heart

You make the world no longer hungry

If 1.4 billion people are a big mountain

You are an everlasting pine on the top of this mountain

You use your life's hard work

You use your life's dedication

Laid the cornerstone of this mountain

Your scientific spirit

诗译者简介：

王中权，男，【英国文学】副主审。研究生毕业于复旦大学医学院，从事临床和医学研究，已退休。酷爱文学，诗歌和音乐。现居美国。

Wang Zhongquan, male, graduated from Fudan University School of Medicine with a postgraduate degree, engaged in clinical and medical research, and has retired.  Love literature, poetry and music.  Now living in the US.  

译审老师简介：

任诚刚，英文教授。1989年毕业于美国康科迪亚大学。系威斯康星大学研究生、旅居美国十四年。1998年回国在云南农业大学外语学院担任教学与测试室主任、云南省翻译工作者协会理事、研究生高级文学翻译等课程教学。发表论文50余篇。出版《韵译天安门诗抄100首》《英韵周恩来朱德及陈毅诗选五十首》等译著。

Ren Chenggang，professor of English, graduated from Concordia University US in 1989. He was a graduate student in University of Wisconsin and lived in the United States for 14 years. In 1998, he returned to China and worked at the College of Foreign Languages, Yunnan Agricultural University, serving as the director of the Teaching and Testing Office and is a council member of the Yunnan Translators Association. Teaching Advanced Lilterary Translation and other courses. He has published more than 50 papers. Translation books as rhymed versions of 100 Poems of Tiananmen and 50 selected poems by Zhou Enlai, Zhu De and Chen Yi etc.

云朵，本名宋仙云，【海外诗译社】副社长兼中文主播；天津某国企退休干部。曾在大型国企从事过多年电视播音、编辑工作，经常担任各类活动的主持。2018年参加滨海新区巅峰朗诵大赛获得组合类一等奖。

Yun Duo, whose real name is Song Xianyun, is a Chinese anchor of “Overseas Phoenix Poetry Translation society”；a retired cadre of a state-owned enterprise in Tianjin.  She has been engaged in TV broadcasting and editing work in large state-owned enterprises for many years, and often served as the host of various activities.  In 2018, she participated in the Binhai New Area Peak Recitation Competition and won the first prize in the combination category.
