The land of hills and dales!
The land of rolling clouds!
The land of rainy skies and sunny days!
Far and wide, the wheat field stretches;
And the nightingale, singest of summer in full throated ease.
Hither and thither, in the countryside
the sheep and cows ramble about.
So carefree on the island of England!
'Tis the land of castles and palaces for kings and queens.
'Tis the land where lassies dance in a ring.
'Tis the place where the May Flower set out on first voyage.
To be or not to be, 'tis the home of William Shakespeare.
'Tis the home of Robert Burns with that red, red rose;
'Tis the home of poets and poetesses.
Where Yeats nodding by the fire, took down the book and read….,
Where Browning's passionate love burned
to the depth and breadth and height her soul could reach.
'Tis the treasure house of poems and literature and art.
'Tis the land of gallant England!
啊，英格兰的土地
有高山绵延有溪水流淌
有云卷云舒，有雨露阳光
广阔无垠的麦田伸向远方
夏日里夜莺放开喉咙歌唱
在英伦岛的乡间
